Aikido World Headquarters

Aiki Kai Australia is affiliated with Aikido World Headquarters (Hombu dojo). All dan grades awarded by AKA are registered and issued from Hombu Dojo.

Generally, once a year this association welcomes participation at national events of other Aikikai affiliated bodies. For the purposes of safe and cohesive training at AKA open national events, attendees are limited to those with more than 3 months training in Aikido, and train at a dojo officially affiliated to Aikido World Headquarters (Hombu dojo), Japan, or with directly affiliated organisation and/or instructors.

If you would like to attend one of these open events and you are not a current Member of Aiki Kai Australia, one of these criteria should apply to you:

1. Hold a Hombu dan ranking and yudansha book
(to be presented at the registration desk)

2. The organisation you belong to is recognised by Hombu, as listed on their website
(http://www.aikikai.or.jp/eng/index.htm)

3. The organisation you belong to has been directly issued with an invitation to one of our events

4. Your Aikikai ranked instructor has a direct connection with Hombu dojo. Details of the connection and the instructor's name & Aikikai rank will need to be provided.

Junior students 13 and over may attend an AKA national event if they have been training 2 years or more with your organisation. A parental permission form will need to be completed.
