Aikido - Basic and Intermediate Studies

By John Litchen

A comprehensive text, this book contains 274 pages fully illustrated with 1,112 photo drawings and 175 sketches delineating movement, with detailed explanations covering most of the initial studies a new student will undertake at basic and intermediate levels.

Simple principles are explained: disturbing balance, - connection and harmony - timing and leading – making use of gravity to create a fall – basic pins and other aspects which can lead to effective Aikido that anyone can develop.

Although no book about Aikido can be complete or truly comprehensive — since there are simply too many techniques and applications to fit into one volume, or even ten for that matter — the author with technical assistance from Graham Morris Sensei has attempted to convey principles that can be used to develop a deeper perception in the exploration of Aikido.

Along the way he hopes that the reader will see the beauty and the possibilities embodied in Aikido practice and will be inspired to study further.

The cost of the book is A$40-00 plus a subsidised package and posting cost of A$8-50 to anywhere in Australia. Bringing the overall cost to A$48-50. Overseas postage is more expensive.
