Glossary of Terms

Students are recommended for grading, by their instructor, after training for the required number of classes and demonstrating a proficiency in the required techniques. The grading is a formal occasion and the student is required to receive as well as perform the techniques.

Senior Kyu Requirements

5th Kyu Requirements

50 days training plus ability to demonstrate a proficiency

in the following techniques :Shomen Uchi Irimi Nage
Shomen Uchi Ikkyo
Katate Dori Shiho Nage
Katate Dori Irimi Nage (Ai Hanmi)
Katate Dori Ikkyo
Suwari Waza Kokyu Ho
Sanin Gake Irimi Nage

4th Kyu Requirements
60 days training plus ability to demonstrate a proficiency in
all the above as well as the following techniques :

Kata Dori Ikkyo
Kata Dori Nikyo
Yokomen Uchi Shiho Nage
Tsuki Kote Gaeshi
Riyote Dori Tenshi Nage
Ushiro Kubishime Sankyo
Shomen Uchi Nikyo
Sanin Gake Ju Waza

3rd Kyu Requirements
70 days training plus ability to demonstrate a proficiency in
all the above as well as the following techniques :

Tsuki Irimi Nage
Shomen Uchi Ikkyo, Nikyo, Sankyo & Yonkyo (Suwari & Tachi Waza)
Yokomen Uchi Shiho Nage
Yokomen Uchi Irimi Nage (2 ways)
Yokomen Uchi Kote Gaeshi
Riyote Dori Shiho Nage
Katate Dori Kaiten Nage (Gyaku Hanmi)
Katate Dori Koshi Nage (Gyaku Hanmi)

2nd Kyu Requirements
80 days training plus ability to demonstrate a proficiency in
all the above as well as the following techniques:

Katate Tori Shiho Nage (Hanmi Hantachi)
Ushiro Riyote Dori Ikkyo
Yokomen Uchi Gokyo (2 Ways)

90 days training plus ability to demonstrate a proficiency in
